Weather forecasting is still an imperfect science. We saw this once again, as the forecast wind event came late, and with a vengeance. Now it has been blowing for two days with 3-4 foot seas just outside the harbor breakwater. Most of the fishermen even stayed home.
The past two days have been spent updating charts, doing small maintenance items, and socializing with friends who all greet us with, “You’re not gone yet?” and “I thought you left.”
Today will be another day in port, with winds gusting to 31 at Eldred Rock, and seas forecast to be 5 feet. We’ll be watching the forecast once again, hoping for better weather early tomorrow.
